COURSES

We offer two guided tour courses in Kagoshima City’s major tourist destinations:

  1. Sakurajima Volcano – Experience the dynamic volcanic landscape up close.

  2. Sengan-en Garden & House – Discover the rich history of the Shimadzu family.

Please note:

We do not meet at the port. Kindly make your way to the designated starting point of the tour.

Booking Process
  1. Submit the Booking Form (from 2 months to 2 weeks before the desired tour date)

  2. Receive a reservation confirmation email

  3. If a guide is found: Receive a payment information email (If no guide is available: Receive a cancellation notice)

  4. After payment is completed, receive an email with the guide’s details, including a photo and an emergency contact number (Please reply with your photo) 

  5. Receive a final confirmation email

9:30 Meet the guide 
9:40 Take the ferry to Sakurajima (15 min.)
9:50 Tsukiyomi Shrine (15 min.)
10:10 Roadside Station (20 min.)
Walk to Sakurajima Visitor Centre (10 min.)
10:40 Sakurajima Visitor Centre/Nagisa Park (45 min.)
11:36-12:25 Take a sightseeing bus to Yunohira Observatory
12:45 Ferry back to Kagoshima Port (15 min.)
13:00 Kagoshima Port (End of tour)

*The time and route can be adjusted to fit your schedule.

*Kindly allow enough time to travel from your location to the meeting point.

If Kagoshima is your first port of entry into Japan, please note that immigration and quarantine may take 1–2 hours.

Service Charge

  • 5,000 yen for a group of up to 3 people

  • 2,500 yen per additional person (maximum 6 people)

 

Additional Costs

  • Round-trip ferry to Sakurajima: 500 yen per person (260 yen for children under 13)

  • Sightseeing bus: 500 yen per person (250 yen for children under 13)
    Please note that the guide’s transportation and meal expenses are your responsibility.

 

Payment

  • The total fee must be paid in advance. As a general rule, payment should be made via the online transfer service Wise. If paying in cash on the day, a 20% service charge will be added as a handling fee.

  • Additionally, we kindly ask you to provide a light meal for our guide (e.g., noodles on the ferry: 500–1,000 yen) and a small sweet treat (e.g., soft-serve ice cream: 300 yen).

  • While tipping is not customary in our culture, you are welcome to offer a gratuity of 1,000 yen to 3,000 yen to the guide.
